YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND

It has been 2 years since Cheryl told me that she wanted a bird, since I got the German Shepherd. So we found a Green Cheek Conure with a nice large cage in an ad and got the bird. the lady where we got the bird from told us his name is Elvis. But I wanted to know for sure and the only way to really find out the sex of 'Elvis' was by DNA testing. After the test results came back, we found out that 'Elvis' really was a female, so we changed her name to Elvira. She listens to it really good. In the beginning she did not like me for whatever reason, but as time went by she really bonded with me, since I have been home all the time.
Since Cheryl has been working full time I always took care of the bird's and dog's.
About 5 months after we got Elvira, I've seen an other ad about a Dusky Conure and a Cockatiel for sale. Needles to say that I picked up the phone and called and left a message, since I had the feeling that it was the same lady where Elvira came from.
Bingo, she called me back and we drove the 30 miles again up in the beautiful Hills of Wine Country Temecula and picked up the birds. Now we had 3 birds, Elvira the Green Cheek Conure, Dusty the female Dusky Conure and Nicky the male Cockatiel who is extremely bonded and living with Dusty in the same cage. Now Nicky doesen't like to be handled, but he let me take him out of the cage now after almost 2 years without much fuss and Dusty is very nice.
So for me, a former wild animal trainer who spend many years of his life performing in Circuses and Amusement Parks training and performing with Elephants,Chimpanzee's, Lions, Leopards and Tigers this sure was something new.
To make the story short, I started to like the birds who are very relaxing and now breed Cockatiels to a certain limit. It is a very nice hobby that keeps me busy.
NO, I don't give the Baby's away. I sell them, usually for less then half of what the Bird Farm's or Pet Shops are selling them to cover all my expenses, plus my Baby's are tame when they leave here, unlike many Pet Shops.
Starting in 2011
My Cockatiels will come banded and with a Hatch Certificate  .
